Hi everyone! It’s Brenda here with today’s Tips & Tricks Thursday! The technique I’m going to show you today is faux torn paper. This technique is perfect for those one layer cards because it adds no bulk. Ready? Here we go!

Here’s what you’ll need:

A stamp- preferably one with a fairly solid image. I’m using the butterflies from Cancer Schmancer.

Stazon ink or other waterproof ink
Another ink in the color of your choice
A piece of scrap paper
Card stock for your card
A brayer or sponges
First of all, tear your piece of scrap paper in a jagged edge.
Lay your scrap paper across the front of your card and begin stamping on the uncovered area with Stazon.
Stamp over the whole area as much as you want.
Keeping the scrap piece of paper in place, ink up your brayer or sponges with the other ink.
Brayer or sponge the ink over the stamped images. You can use several colors or just one. You can also darken it in certain areas if you want.
Take away your scrap paper and view your faux torn edge.
Finish up your card any way you want. I added a bit of torn vellum over my stamped part and layered the sentiment and bow over that.
There you have it! Easy peasy! I hope you enjoyed today’s tutorial!
