Hi, folks! I’m here with you today to share a simple, but sometimes forgotten little technique! Creating unique designs using repeating pattern and shape stamps is a great way to create cards that are all your own! Here is the break down on how to accomplish this.

I chose to use the Garden Stamp Kiss set. You can also mix and match sets to do these types of things, too!

Begin by choosing two or three coordinating ink colors. I am stamping on a plain white card because that’s how I roll, but you could easily layer a light panel on a patterned or darker mat to create your card. Choose a pattern stamp and tile it across the card.

Step 1
Next, choose another stamp and switch ink colors. In this case, I only want a portion of the image, so I created a mask with a strip of paper over the text pattern I already stamped.

Step 2
When tiling a smaller, more specific shape like this across a card, I like to start in the middle to keep the balance correct.

Next, I added the solid dot, keeping the mask in place and then lifted the mask.

You can see that I have created my very own design simply by combining stamps and repeating them on my card! I finished it off with a bit of twine and a sentiment from the Chick Chat set!

Thank You
I hope you give this a try! Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to participate in this week’s Sketch Challenge for the chance to win FREE STAMPS!!!!
