Hi, everyone! It’s Brenda here with today’s Tips and Tricks post. Today we’re going to be making our own stamped embellishments, so why don’t pull up a chair and let’s get started, OK?

Here’s what you’ll need:
Clay (I’m using Crayola air-dry clay)
Stamps (I used Happy Brrrrthday, Timeless Textures and Garden Stamp Kiss)
a rolling pin
a surface such as a mat or cutting board
very small cookie cutters or anything small enough to use to cut shapes out (I even used a thimble and a tiny medicine cup!)

Start with a small amount of clay and roll it to desired thickness. I like mine pretty thin so it’s less bulky, but you can experiment to get it how you like it.

Using the stamp of your choice, press the stamp into the clay to leave an impression.

Like so.

Then cut shapes out of it with your cookie cutters.

See? Cute, right?

Then make lots more!

These were made using Timeless Textures.

These were made using the script stamp from Garden Stamp Kiss.

And this one was made using one of the snowflakes in Happy Brrrrthday.

Let them air dry. This usually takes a day or two. Or bake them in the oven if you have the baking kind of clay.
Be sure to clean your stamps well. You don’t want the clay to dry in the crevices of your stamps. I used an old toothbrush to clean mine to get in all those tiny spaces.
After they’re all dry you can paint them in all kinds of fun colors! You could even add some glaze to them after the paint is dry for a glossy look.

Then, of course, you must make something with them!
I made a card with one of mine.

And a close up.

These little embellishments are super fun and pretty light weight, which make them great for adding to cards and other projects. Plus, anything that lets you use your stamps in a different way is a bonus!
Thanks so much for joining me today for Tips and Tricks Thursday!
