Hello! Karen from The Bald Dragonfly here to show you a frugal tip for those ribbon scraps you just can’t throw away-how about we create a nice, lush ribbon tab AND tail with just a few inches of ribbon?

Any ribbon about three inches or greater would work for this! I used May Arts 1.5″ inch wide ribbon, in a satin and sheer style. I also cut a card stock base to size, and stamped the pretty flower image from Blissful Botanicals onto another piece of card stock and trimmed it down to size.

To assemble the double ribbon tab, fold over about 5/8″ inch of ribbon onto itself, and staple in place (double sided adhesive would also work.) Then, staple each tab together and trim about a one and a half inch portion from the opposite end. Adhere the tabs to the card on the folded edge. Measure your image and attach the tail with adhesive on the bottom portion.

There you have it, that’s it! You’ve just stretched your ribbon scrap into a full ribbon tab and tail! I hope you try out this trick with those scraps you’ve been saving as well!
