Hi Everyone!
It’s JoAnn and I have a super simple tip to share with you today!
So, I’ve been a cardmaker/stamper for about 3 years now and my collection of stamps is getting all sorts of ridiculous! (I’m sure there are a few of you out there that can feel me on this one, right?!) Anyway, I’m in the process of trying to organize all of the awesome rubber and acrylic stamps I’ve accumulated over the years, including my beloved Skipping Stones Design sets!
Now, I should have taken a “before” picture, but I got caught up in the moment of organization and when I say “caught up in the moment,” I mean “DON’T BOTHER ME, I’M ON A ROLL.” *lol*
But my system before wasn’t really a system, unless you call shoving my sets in a pile! haha!
So anyway, my stamps looked like this:
And then I decided to move all of my stamps into binders. Skipping Stones Design will have its own binder because I just love my SSD stamps and it will be easier for my DT work!
I’m using these 4×6 photo sleeves that I found at Office Depot:
And then I put my sets in the sleeves like this:
They fit PERFECTLY! I added a 4×6 piece of white cardstock behind each set so it would be easier for me to see too.
The only thing that gets pretty annoying is that the sleeves and the sets are so perfect together that there’s no wiggle room. I might put a piece of washi tape at the top just to secure the sets in place…
Anyway, After I put the sets in, I put them in my binder and labeled each set:

I use dvd and cd cases to store my stamps and dies. I love the fact that they’re clear so I can see what’s inside.
Does lack of organization count?
I’ve been looking for cost effective organization and I love this idea! I will definitely be using this!
I need so much help in this department….
what a great idea!!
i have all mine on a clip-it up
I just found your site and love your cute stamps. I keep my stamp sets in unikeep binders on laminated cardstock.
I have my scrap supplies divided by theme. I stamp all my stamps & then divide them also by theme. For example, if I have a set with flowers & birthday sentiments, the stamped flowers go in my Nature section & the birthday sentiment goes in the Celebrations section. I find I really use my stamps more this way vs. using 1 set at a time.
I am really cheap and have lots of page protectors. I sew the page protectors in half, so I can place one set in each side. then I trim the page protectors down to 8 1/2″ and place. I place my page protectors in baskets by company. (The reason I cut the page protectors down is so my baskets with the stamps fit on my shelves. If I have smaller sets (2 x3), I sew my page protectors into four sections, cut slits in the bottom portion). For my holiday stamps, I purchased 12 x 12″ plastic stacking containers. I put my holiday (Christmas & Halloween) papers and my stamps in separate bins and pull them out when needed.
I too need a lot of help with this. I currently store my stamps in one of those stackable plastic drawer things, but I’ve run out of room and it’s so easy to forget what I have (out of sight, out of mind…). I will definitely have to give your storage idea a try for my clear stamps. Thank you for sharing this and for a chance to win one of your stamp sets.
What a great idea. My stamps are all stored in totes – The sets are standing up right so I just kind of leaf through to find the set I’m looking for.
Great minds, JoAnn!! I did the same thing and I love it – so easy to flip through and keep everything organised!
Great idea! I’ve recently converted all my clear sets to fit into 5 x 8 vinyl envelopes that you can get at Office Depot. Then I put them all in a basket that I flip through very easily.
Yep….this is a great way to do it! I’ve got binders labeled by company as well….wonderful when you can flip thru at a glance!
I use EZ Mount sheets and ring binders to store my stamps
I use CD/DVD cases to store my stamp sets. In the beginning I would break apart the sets and sort them by theme (stars, stamps, animals, etc)…but as my collection (aka addiction) grew, I switched and now keep sets together. I use my Brother Label maker to label the spine with the name of the set and manufacturer and then alphabetize them. I save all the inserts (the stamped images) in another container so I can quickly see what I have and what stamp set its from.
I got some pretty storage boxes from Michaels in 3 sizes, and I store them by company in those. It’s getting out of control, though, I will have to try your idea!
i have three binders. One binder is for the smallest stamps. The second is for all my larger sets. And the third binder is for all my letter and number sets. I also use card stock to make it easier to see the stamps. For the smaller sets you can get pages that are divided into four or six sections. this is ideal for different size sets.
What a terrific organizational tip! I currently have all my SSD sets in one of those open plastic bins and it is FULL and taking up a lot of space, this will save a LOT of room (for more stamps – YAAY!)
