Bras – Vol. 1 with Megan!

January 13th, 2013

Hello! Megan here with my last Skipping Stones post. I used one of my favorite stamps. I just love this sentiment because it cracks me up! I used one of the bras and the Hang in there stamp from the Bras Volume 1 set. I kept the card simple, but bright to cheer up someone’s day, and still focus on the funny stamp. I embossed the background with a spellbinders embossing folder for a little bit of texture.

Breathtaking Butterflies with Judith!

January 10th, 2013

Judith Gowdy here today sharing a card today that I made using the beautiful stamps from Breathtaking Butterflies – this is a must have set :)

The butterfly was coloured with a combination of distress markers and prismacolor pencils then sprayed with Mr Huey’s Shine for a bit of sparkle.

This is my last post for Skipping Stones Designs and I am really going to miss this team. Thank you Heather for the wonderful opportunity and to the other DT girls for being so welcoming.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Gray Hares with Karen!

January 8th, 2013

One thing that sets Skipping Stones Design apart from the rest of the stamp companies out there are their plentiful amount of humorous stamps sets! Take for instance, Gray Hares…perfect for your mother, sister, girlfriend or even for those guys in your life! Plus, it offers up the option to use during the Easter Season too. Love stamp sets that offer so much diversity.

This is my last post for Skipping Stones Design, thank you to Heather and the rest of the team for a really fun adventure!

Breathtaking Butterflies with Tesa!

January 5th, 2013
Hi! Tesa here to share a card.
When one has the most beautiful stamps, one needs little more than some beautiful papers to go with them…

Life 1

I tried to decorate it, but it shadowed the amazing butterfly and the sentiment that is sooo wonderful!
The stamps are from the Breathtaking Butterflies set – one of my all time favorite stamp sets!
Life 2
Both the sentiment and butterfly are wet embossed using a black pigment ink and clear embossing powder. That gives a really crisp stamped image and no extra dots of embossing powder that are visible. :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year with Stephanie!

January 1st, 2013

Happy New Year!!!

I’m so excited to start you off in 2013 with one of my most favorite SSD stamp sets………………

Chic Martini!

There is a little swirly pattern found in the stamp set and I used that to make the swirly background. You can’t tell it in the picture but I used Brilliance ink so there is a subtle shine and glimmer to match the glittery patterned paper.

I made this for my husband so in order to make it a little more masculine, I chose the gray, black and silver combination.  The little touch of olive green in the image and the buttons really sets it off.

For the inside, I got a little creative.  The “You can have Olive my love” sentiment is from the Chic Martini stamp set, but I wanted to add the phrase “in 2013″ to the rest of it.  The numbers weren’t the difficult part it was the “in” that I didn’t have.  So, I found the word “Independence” in another stamp set and just inked up what I needed to make it work!

For 2013, all of the DT and Heather wish you lots of crafty happiness!

Try new things!

Experiment with what you have!

And most of all, have fun crafting!

Brrrrrthday with Stephanie!

December 27th, 2012
Good morning, everyone!

Yesterday we had the biggest snowstorm here in PA!  It was awesome because they were advising everyone to stay inside and not to travel.  That allowed me to get out some Skipping Stones Designs stamp sets and get my wintery mojo flowin’!

Have you seen the cute SSD set called “Brrrrrthday?”  It’s absolutely perfect for those January birthdays you have coming up.

Using the snowflake stamps in this set, I created a background on the card base.  Those snowflakes are so detailed.

I absolutely love layering patterned paper with a cardstock panel behind it.  It makes the image and the patterned paper shapes stand out just a little bit more.  For the panel with the penguin, I ran the PTI-Mat Stack #1 die through my Vagabond to get the light gray panel that I stamped and colored on; but then, I traced and hand cut it on the gray so I could have a layered look.  Easy to do when you don’t have graduated sized die cuts.

Christmas with Rochelle!

December 25th, 2012
Merry Christmas!  I’m so glad to be sharing a holiday card with you that was created with our beloved Skipping Stones Design Stamps!  I used Victorian Summer, Victorian Christmas and Heartsong to create this card!

I’m a big, big fan of Distress Ink.  Nothing like a good old fashioned rustic Christmas card.  After I stamped the music on to the center panel, I distressed it with tea dye and antique linen.  I did the same thing for the medallion image after I fussy cut the image.
Happy Holidays to you all!

Cheers with Judith

December 20th, 2012

Hello.  Only a few more days until Christmas and I am running around in a last minute rush to get everything done! But, I do love this time of year :)

I wanted to share a fun New Year’s card that I made using this sassy image from Cheers. I thought she was perfect for this card as she looks like she is ready to party! She has been coloured with copics and paper pieced. The background paper is appropriately enough, ‘Life of the Party’ from Basic Grey.

I hope you all have a safe and happy holidays and I will see you again in the New Year.
Merry Christmas :)
Judith
