Good morning!!  Welcome to October, which means that we are introducing our Skipping Stones Designs Sketch Artist and our October Guests.

We have such fabulous talent this month, I can’t wait to share….

Here goes….

Cristina Kowalczyk

Originally from Delaware, Cristina currently lives in the western suburbs of Chicago with her husband and daughter. She’s an author by day, with two books published under her maiden name (a short story collection called Come Together, Fall Apart and a novel entitled The World in Half), and a card maker by night. She’s currently on design teams for Clear & Simple Stamps, Wplus9, Embellish, and CASE Study. You can visit her at her blog:www.mypapersecret.blogspot.com.

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

What is your favorite color combo?

I love yellow and aqua together.

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?

I can’t decide between Dandelion Dreams and Pumpkin Seed Sentiments.

Andrea Ewen

My name is Andrea Ewen and I’ve been married to my high school sweet heart for 16 years. We have two children together, ages 13 and 11. I live in New Jersey near the beautiful shore and work full time in a small pharmacy that is 2 blocks from the ocean. Crafting has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until 2002 that I found the art of paper crafting. I started my blog, EwenStyle, in 2010 and since then I have really concentrated on learning as much as I can and experimenting as much as possible. Card making has become a very important aspect of my life, I feel like it’s my “stress equalizer”. I’m so honored that Skipping Stones Designs has asked me to be a guest designer for this month, I’m really looking forward to creating with their awesome stamps.

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

I have to say that as much as I try to challenge myself with different styles of card making, my favorite would be vintage girly. I love to use lots of flowers, pearls, distressing, ribbons and most of all layers. I also enjoy ‘paper manipulating’…finding new ways to cut paper with dies and punches.

What is your favorite color combo?

Ahh, anything with pink speaks to my shabby heart, especially in combination with warm browns, tan and cream.

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?

I am in love with Dandelion Dreams…with it’s beautiful sentiments and gorgeous silhouette designs…this is definitely a set that I’ll be using over and over again!

Tammy Tutterow

I am a lifelong artist and crafter. My mother was a professional artist for many years so I grew up surrounded by art and hobby supplies. I love all types of crafts but find my true crafting passion in papercrafts, ribbonwork, and sewing. I love to combine elements of all three into my projects.

I have been an instructor and project designer in the papercraft/scrapbook industry for more than 5 years. I have been fortunate to work for many top manufacturers including: Tim Holtz, Ranger Ink, BasicGrey, Pink Paislee,Therm O Web, ProvoCraft/Cricut, Prima Marketing, Glitz Design, and Tattered Angels. My work has been published in several books, magazines, and product catalogs and has been featured on television. My classes have been offered at stores, conventions, and online on both my own blog and at Big Picture Classes.

When I am not creating, I am a wife and mother of three who loves anyting and everything shabby, chippy, and vintage. I love to scour flea markets for old treasures. I am also a fair weather gardener so if the spring breezes are blowing, you will probably find me playing in the dirt in my flower garden.

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

I love vintage and shabby. I am very inky and like adding lots of different types of inks and mediums to my stamped projects.

What is your favorite color combo?

Right now I can’t stop using the new Limited Edition Fall Distress Ink trio- Ripe Persimmon, Seedless Preserves, and Gathered Twigs. They put me in a total fall mood.

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?

I really love Pumpkin Seed Sentiments. I love great background and textures stamps because they are so versatile. This set has so many possibilities!

Karen Christensen

Hi!  I’m so honored and excited to rejoin the SSD Family for another month.  I have been stamping now for about 15 years.  I am a mom of three and grandma of one.  My oldest, my son, is 21, I then have my two daughters ages 17 and 12.  I have found that now that my kids are older I have a lot more time to play with my inks!  For that matter, my 12 yr old enjoys stamping with me when I can find my other craft tables!  I don’t think I would have ever been able to get so into stamping or any of my other intrests if it weren’t for my supportive husband of almost 20 years.  I work full-time at one of our local hospitals in Boise, Idaho.  I’m an ordained minister/wedding officiant, and I am currently taking a break from being a stage actress for several of our local theatres.  I can’t wait to see all of the inspiration you all share and to share some inspiration with you!

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

I would discribe my style as eclectic. I tend to be all over the place with different styles. I’m a what I would call a mood stamper – I stamp what I’m in the mood to stamp. If I’m in the mood to go all out and fancy I will.

What is your favorite color combo?

Here again is a matter of mood. I love blues and pinks, but not necessarily together. I also love red and burgundy, not necessarily together. Sometimes it will depend on the stamp I’m using or the person I’m making the card for as to what colors I’m using..

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?

What one isn’t my favorite? I love all of the SSD stamps. I guess If I had to pick at least a small group of favorites, it would have to be the sarcastic and funny ones. I’m more of a smart alec, so the humor fits my personality. That is what drew me to SSD to begin with, starting with the bra sets! The more serious stamp sets sort of bore me, but I have to recall who I am stamping for sometimes and calm it down some. LOL

Oh….I can’t wait until tomorrow to see what these gals come up with for our new sketch!!!

See you tomorrow for Cristina’s first sketch for October!!!
