Good morning!!

Welcome to September and Happy Labor Day!!!

It is the first Monday of a new month and we are introducing our September Sketch Artist and Guest Designers!!

Amy Sheffer~Sketch Artist

I live with my husband and three children in Virginia on the far outskirts of Washington, DC. I’ve been dabbling in anything and everything artsy and crafty pretty much all my life, so when a friend introduced me to scrapbooking in 1997 and then rubber stamping in 2002, I was instantly hooked both times. I spent a few years stamping for classes, workshops, and sales as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator, but it wasn’t until I started my blog in the Fall of 2007 that I discovered the joy of stamping just for the pure fun of it. Stamping has been a big part of my daily life ever since. At the same time, I discovered that the online stamping community is much more fun to participate in than merely to stalk, and I’m truly grateful for the wonderful friends I’ve found through stamping.

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

I like to play around with different looks and styles; for me, that’s what keeps stamping fresh and interesting. One thing that’s (mostly) consistent is lots of layers and embellishments. I love my “stuff”!

What is your favorite color combo?

I always seem most drawn to blue and green combos.

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?

That’s a hard question! I’ve always been a big fan of Healing Wings … the beautiful butterfly images and fabulous variety of sentiments make this set super easy to stamp with.

Here is Amy’s Healing Wings creation…

Cristina Kowalczyk

Originally from Delaware, Cristina currently lives in the western suburbs of Chicago with her husband and daughter. She’s an author by day, with two books published under her maiden name (a short story collection called Come Together, Fall Apart and a novel entitled The World in Half), and a card maker by night. She’s currently on design teams for Clear & Simple Stamps, Wplus9, Embellish, and CASE Study. You can visit her at her blog: www.mypapersecret.blogspot.com.

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

CAS!

What is your favorite color combo?

I love yellow and aqua together.

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?

I can’t decide between Dandelion Dreams and Pumpkin Seed Sentiments.

Here is Cristina’s creations with Heartsong…

Chan Vuong

Hello there! My name’s Chan. I live with my best pal Humble in a little apartment taken over by cat toys and craft supplies -– and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve loved to craft for most of my life and have tried lots of different crafts before I started card making in May 2009. I’m now terribly addicted to all things paper crafty. I think it’s pretty amazing how a few supplies can come together to form something that can actually change someone’s mood and make somebody smile. Powerful stuff, if you ask me! :o)

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

Fun and cute with a big lean into clean and simple.

What is your favorite color combo?

I don’t have one favourite colour combo — I just love bright, happy, candy colours!

What is your favorite SSD set?

The set to be released this month [Holiday Cats]!

Nicole Mullan

My name is Nicole, and I am an insomniac craft-aholic! I live in Dublin, Ireland with a very understanding husband and 2 bunny rabbits. I have been crafting for as far back as I can remember. My well trained family are always turning up with bags of stuff and the phrase “I thought you might use this on something”. And they are usually always right! Craft supplies in Ireland leave a lot to be desired so I tend to do a lot of recycling and improvising in my creations. Im sure my credit card prefers it like that though. I love trying out new crafts and techniques. I also love the crafty blog world and when I am not crafting, working or chasing bunnies I am more than likely to be on-line blog hopping!

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

I love a lot of styles all depending on the mood I am in, but my top two would probably be clean and simple and grungy vintage. I am not a very girly girl so tend not to do pink, frills, lace and glitter very often! I actually love creating masculine cards, I enjoy the challenge and getting to get grungy!

What is your favorite color combo?

I love blue in any shade and with any other colour, but for crafting I think I would have to say a teal blue with kraft. I cant live without my kraft card and paper 🙂

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?

Funny Coffee vol 1! It was my first ever SSD set (I actually won it on the blog). It started my love for SSD stamps, and it never fails to make me happy when I use it. It can be made as masculine, feminine, clean and simple, grungy and funky as you want and I just love that. It is without fail the stamp set I use the most out of all my stamps!

Vanessa Menhorn

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?
I love all styles, from CAS to elegant, vintage, fun & cute, shabby/chic – it depends on the product, my mood and the recipient

What is your favorite color combo?
It is fun to try new color combos, so this changes very often, too. Right now I love Sunny Yellow, Cream, Brown with a touch of teal

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?
My all-time favorite is Heartsong, but my new favorite is Victorian Summer. I just love this medallion!

Amber Daigre

What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?

My style is definitely on the simpler side with a hefty dose of color, graphic elements and a little bit of sass! From time to time, I create something with some “busy-ness” but I always gravitate toward simpler designs. I’m also a huge fan of adding personality and whimsy to my designs! As corny as it may sound, I love a witty sentiment on a simple card! Anything that can make me laugh is a winner in my book!

What is your favorite color combo?

Call me dull, but a bright white cardbase is my absolute fave! I go through more white cardstock than any seven crafters ever could! Something about the clean look of a white background just makes me happy!

What is your favorite SSD stamp set?

Can I have two faves?! First, I love the Bras Volume #1 set! It’s so unique and the sentiments crack me up!! As a matter of fact – keep your eyes peeled for a little SSD Bras Volume 1 in an upcoming issue of Paper Crafts!  I also love Rustic Tiles. I suppose it’s due to my penchant for graphic elements. I love building backgrounds and focal images with the tile stamps – they are simply beautiful!

Please join me welcoming our September Guests!!!

Wait until you see the sketches!!!  Tomorrow 8am EST!!
