Hi everyone! Welcome to Meet and Greet Monday where we introduce you to our fabulous June Guests! Let’s get to know them a little bit better!

First up, our Guest Sketch Artist is Latisha Yoast!

Hello, I am Latisha, and I am so glad to join SSD this month.  I was born and raised in California, have two wonderful children ages 10 &15 (who keep me very busy), and I am married to a great man.  He is a pilot in the Navy, which has brought us to Florida for the time being.  Once both of my children were school aged, I needed a hobby that could travel with me (we move a lot).  Paper crafting is the perfect fit.  I get to do something creative with my hands, and make pretty things.  I’m just a normal mom like the rest of you.  Trying to find that perfect balance.  Besides paper crafting, I enjoy photography, shopping, Starbucks, wine, and shopping lol (don’t we all), oh and I am kind of geeky over tech toys.  I would be lost without my iPhone, and am slowing feeling the same about my iPad.

Q: What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as simple elegance, clean but balanced.

Q: What is your favorite color combo?
A: My favorite color combo…easy…red & yellow

Q: What is your favorite SSD stamp set?
A: I love the Dandelion Dreams stamp set.

Here’s a card Latisha created in her simple and elegant style using Uplifting!

Next up, our two very amazing Guest Sketch Artists!

We’re so thrilled to welcome Dina Kowal!

Hi! I’m Dina Kowal… you might know me as “dini” or “Mama Dini” from other stamping spaces on the internet. My family and I serve cross-culturally in S.E. Asia. Stamping is my ‘escape,’ and I love winding down after a long day with my watercolors, pencils, stamps, and cardstock all in reach. I blog over at Mama Dini’s Stamperia, where you can see my other design team work and stamp designs. I’m currently designing for Flower Soft and Impression Obsession, and I’m one of SCS’s Dirty Dozen. I love doing one-of-a-kind design work and am so tickled to be working with SSD images this month!

Q: What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?
A: You would ask this question!   I’m still not sure what my style is – artistic? detailed? eclectic? versatile? I love to color, and tend towards more realistic and detailed images for those moods… but I can go for whimsical and humorous too. I tend not to follow the crowd.  🙂

Q: What is your favorite color combo?
A: Kraft and dark brown, plus any other color.

Q: What is your favorite SSD stamp set?
A: I love Heartsong – music has always been a part of my life, and I adore that little bird!

Here’s a stunning card by Dina featuring her favorite set, Heartsong!

We’re also ecstatic to welcome Karin Akesdotter this month!

Photobucket

Hi! My name is Karin Åkesdotter (Åke’s daughter) and I’m from Gothenburg, Sweden. I am super excited to be guest designing for Skipping Stones Design this month and can’t wait to get started! I am an arts and textile crafts (needle work) teacher at a junior high school so crafting has always been a big passion but it was not until last fall I started blogging about my stamping and card making so I’m quite new here in blog land. Even if I get to be very creative at work, it is still very nice to come home and sit down on my own and get totally lost in a paper crafting project. It is the perfect way for me to relax after a stressful day.

Q: What card style do you tend to gravitate towards, or how would you describe your style?
A: I LOVE to try different styles, colors and techniques, but the cards I tend to like the best  usually have  a little touch of  vintage, are soft in colors, often in combination with kraft and linen or hemp string, have small patterned papers and  stamping without coloring.  The card below would be a fairly typical “Karin” card.

Q: What is your favorite color combo?
A: My favorite color combo is  Dusty blue, cream and  kraft.

Q: What is your favorite SSD stamp set?
A: Heartsong is my absolute favorite set! If you visit my blog you’ll see that I keep coming back to it again and again – it’s such a sweet useful set – I LOVE it !!!

Here’s a gorgeous card Karin created using Heartsong and her classic style!
