Combined with the blog hop today, it’s also Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesday which means the Design Team is showcasing another great creation from Jen del Muro.

PhotobucketCheck out Jen’s Fantastic card on the blog hop

This week I was so excited about the sketch and the new stamps. I just had to do two cards!!!  I’ve also included some tips that might be of interests to new, and seasoned stampers.

Card #1 “Home of the Brave”

Tip #1: Make the fireworks come alive use tinsel embossing powder (Ranger) on a dark background.  The result is breathtaking!!! OR used the Tinsle , or Holographic embossing powder by Ranger(This is what I used on the example above) on Glossy paper.  Once the fireworks are embossed buff on a darker or lighter colored ink.

CARD #2 “Reel Glad Your My Dad~”

Tip #2: I LOVE to color in stamped images, but I don’t always have the time to do so.  Try This: Rather than coloring in a stamped image, buff a little coordinating ink around the edges.  This will tie the image into the colors used on the card. without time consuming coloring.

We’d love for you to play along with the sketch. Just remember to use the keywords SSD025 if you are uploading to any online galleries or link your card at the Skipping Stones Blog. We’ll be looking soon for Guest Designers so you never know….

  1. The flowers with the “Home of the Brave” are a surprising touch. I like them.

  2. Love your cards, and I’m grateful for the tips! I am so LOVING this week’s sketch and these two new sets! (I think my blog post today is the longest in blogging history though!) Thank you so much for letting me play along this month!

  3. I’m in love with “Holy Carp”. Could there be a better stamp set out there? I don’t think so!

  4. I’m SOOOO loving both of these sets! They are PERFECT. For one thing my hubby is a major fisherman! The Home of the Brave set is a MUST have since I make LOTS of card for Operation Write Home. They send handmade blank card to service personnel overseas to use to write home to their loved ones. I always include some Any Hero cards in my box. For those who don’t get a lot of mail from home and need some love and appreciation. What better set to use than this???
Thanks and it was a great hop, oh yes the sketch is perfect too!

  5. What a great blog hop….fantastic cards in each of them.
Holy Carp is a must have for me. Thanks for sharing the talent
