Cupcake Cutie was one of the first SSD sets I got several years ago and it still holds a very special place in my heart! I love being able to make the frosting different colors to suit the recepient, and also trade out the cupcake liner.
The “toppings” are also super fun including the candle, sparkler, and the two styles of sprinkles, and today I’m using the sparkler image for a super sweet and girly card.
I first stamped the frosting base in pink, layered the outline over top in a darker pink, and then embossed both the cupcake liner and sparkler with gold embossing powder. I think there is something magical about blowing out candles and loved the idea of “making a wish” and blowing out the sparkler so created the swirl of sequins wrapping around the card. I added the gold thread behind the stamped panel to bring in more gold and create some whimsy to go with the over-the-top girliness factor.
Here’s a close-up of that cutie cupcake! I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from Sentiment Frames to accentuate the cupcake. Did you know the fonts from Sentiment Frames match Cupcake Cutie? It’s super fun to grab this sentiment for a bigger impact to your card, and then you could use the other accompanying sentiments from Cupcake Cutie on the inside to completely match. Win-win!
Wishing you a day filled with glitz, gold and pink cupcakes!
