Green Birthday ( 11/21/17 ) Skipping Stones Design

Lisa card making 0 Comments

Hello and welcome back I am Lisa, I hope you are doing well and getting ready for Thanksgiving.  I have two birthdays in the month of November, my husband Bob ( a Big Happy Birthday to my King ) and my 1st born Jessica who was born on the same day as her father ( a Big Happy Birthday toooooo you ). So needless to say I am busy making Birthday Cards.  Today I am working with the Green Birthday stamp.  This stamp set has some funny sayings, and I love working with stamp sets like this because it is almost anything goes

I have a card base that measures 4 x 5 1/2, and a layer that measures 3.50 x 5.  I took the topper and stamp the recycle symbol all over the background.

I then colored the cup cake with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers.
After looking at everything I decided to put a piece of green card stock behind the recycled topper, so the card has a base  plain green background 3.75 x 5.25 and then the recycle topper.

After I got finished with the sentiments I wanted them to have a little color so I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol marker LG2 and just gave it a little green to pull the card together.

At the end I put a Happy Birthday and a recycle sign on the inside.

If you have any questions please let me know and have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.  Happy Crafting.

Our Own Kind of Beautiful

Hello lovelies, Jessie here with today’s post!!

I love the Let It Be set(currently not available, but should be soon!!), and this sentiment is part of the reason why. It is the perfect encouragement for any occasion or age group. The perfect reminder for any girl, or guy, of any age. Who doesn’t need a reminder that they are beautiful in their own way?

My butterflies were colored with Copics on X-Press It blending card, and then cut out. My paper is from My Mind’s Eye from the Cut & Paste Flair collection.

Well, that is it for me for today, have a great day!!

Heart Song Love

Esther Blog, handmade cards 0 Comments

Welcome back! Today I am showcasing a super cute stamp set from Skipping Stone Designs.  Heart Song #1 pretty musical notes on detailed shapes. Just too cute, besides it also has that beautiful butterfly, I just had to use it. My Title is also from the same Stamp Set.

Here is the card I made with it:

I like working with a lot of layers but it does make the card bulkier and more expensive to ship. But I think the more layers the better. Thank you so much for stopping by today.

A Painterly Butterfly Card

Ginny Blog 0 Comments

Hi everyone! Ginny here, I’ve created this butterfly card today using an oil painting background and  Skipping Stones Design Stamps. I needed a sympathy card and pulled this set to use and then I noticed the sentiment about gratitude, and I thought I’d like to make a card using it.  Gratitude is such an immensely important emotion and without it, a person can never be happy, they will be living in the mode of always excepting more.  I may use this card and stamp set in a Sunday School lesson!

I printed my background and then stamped the butterfly – I did both of these on Canson 130# watercolor paper.

I colored with colored pencil and blender pen, my polka dot background layer is a rubber stamp inked with distress oxide ink.

I love the opaqueness of this ink when you don’t activate it with water.  A few microbeads added to the wing design.

The sentiment on a pop dot

Here’s the set

This is a very sweet and versatile set, great for bible                                               journaling too!

Just Add Coffee

Debra Davison Blog 2 Comments

Deb here with my first post for November. I’m a Registered Nurse and have been working long hours lately. I have a great desk job in a Telemetry Department after many  ( 25+ ) years in the ICU. But this past week has been extremely busy; so when I was looking through my stamps to start on a project, this image jumped out at me !! I want to spend my first morning off in my fuzzy slippers, drinking coffee and being creative !!  So, if my hair were darker, this would be ME !!

Instant Human – Just Add Coffee

  • The card base is Recollections brand from Michael’s Arts and Crafts.  They were on clearance and I couldn’t resist the laser cuts with the colored background.
  • Using my MISTI, I stamped the image from Funny Coffee with Memories India Black ink right onto the card base. I then stamped it again on a piece of pink patterned paper from the Pebbles ‘Be Mine” paper pad.
  • The sentiment was stamped with Stampin’ Up  Bermuda Bay ink.
  • I fussy-cut the robe and adhered it to the stamped image on the card.  The image was brightened with some of my favorite Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens.
  • The sentiment was cut out using a square paper punch and I then added some Pebbles “Girl Squad” washi to the top and bottom.
  • I popped the sentiment up using foam dimensionals.

The coffees in the picture are just a few of my latest favorites – Toasted Graham and Toffee Nut These flavors are just what I need on a cool autumn morning and believe me, I will be doing just that tomorrow !! The Funny Coffee stamp set will be available again soon. I will keep you posted !! Thank you for stopping by.

This sentiment from the Fisherman stamp set had me cracking up. I don’t know any of my fiancee’s ex-girlfriends, but I’m giving him this card anyway! There are a couple sentiments you could use inside – I went with “hooker.”

I colored my fish with Copic markers and created the background with distress inks.

The stamp set isn’t stocked right now, but check back soon!

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I’ve used the Heartsong Stamp set.
Using a left over die cut panel, I embossed it with a brick embossing folder, then lightly inked it.  Adding pattern paper behind the opening, I matted the panel on cardstock.

I colored the butterfly with Copic Markers to coordinate with the colorful background.  After fussy cutting it, I added it to the card overlapping the oval then inserted the phrase behind the butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by.

Its Christmas Time with LeeAnn

Admin Blog, Design Team, handmade cards, Inspiration 1 Comment

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here with my post using the Christmas Swirl stamp set (coming soon) from Skipping Stones Design. I had fun with this set and I will get busy here and let you know how I did it.

First thing I did was gathered my materials. While I actually used a digital image of the Christmas Swirls stamp set, this could have easily been done with the true stamp set as well. After printing the stamp set image 3 times with a laser printer, I used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut out the images as I knew i wanted 3 of these Christmas ornaments.

I then cut 3 squares of Deco Foil Foil Mates to fit the images while allowing my Scotch laminator to warm up. Once the ready light was on, I covered the balls with the foil and sent them through the laminator twice.

Once they came through the second time I removed the foil to reveal these beautiful images. Using some fun pattern paper from my stash I arranged the ornaments the way I wanted them to appear as hanging from the pine boughs.

Using Tear It! Tape I attached the pattern paper cut to 4″ x 5.25″ to the 4.25″ x 5.50″ card base. I also used Tear It! Tape on the Gold, and foam adhesive on the Red and Green, I attached the ornaments to the base. Tear It! Tape was used on the sentiment and my project was then complete.

I have attached here close ups of each side of the card. I love how the detail came through the foil on all three of the ornaments.

Now, as I said this could have been done with the stamp set just as well. There is a great product called Deco Foil Gel. By spreading a small amount on an acrylic block you can use that to simulate a stamp pad, then ink up the stamp and stamp it on your paper, allow to dry. Once dry add foil and send it through the laminator.

Merry & Bright Colorful card for Christmas

Martha Lucia Gomez Blog, card making, handmade cards, Inspiration, Martha Lucia Gomez Hernandez, Samples 1 Comment

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share a color christmas card with you!. The card that I have for today is a very different Christmas card. It is different because I used non traditional colors and maybe some images from Skipping Stones Designs that you don’t see more frequently.

Merry & Bright Emboss Resist Technique

To create this card I used the Merry & Bright stamp set. This is a small set that came with two snowflakes and a beautiful sentiment. I stamped the snowflakes randomly over a whisper white cardstock piece using Versamark and White Embossing Powder. After melt the powder I applied three different colors of Distress Ink around of the snow flakes to develop the emboss resist technique. I used Pickled Raspberry, Blueprint Sketch and Seedless Preserves.

Merry & Bright Emboss Resist Technique

When I was satisfied with the coloring I sprayed the stamped layer with Shimmer Spritz to activate the ink and obtain the sparkle effect at the same time. I pasted the layer over a Whisper White card base.

Merry & Bright Emboss Resist Technique

To finalize the decoration and create a big contrast of colors, I stamped the sentiment included on the set Merry & Bright in a separate piece of whisper white with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut it like a banner. I created a mat for this piece using Elegant Eggplant cardstock and pasted over the card with double sided foam tape.
