My younger sister is celebrating a birthday this weekend and I wanted to use shades of green on her card. I texted her the other day to confirm her favorite color was still green (because it used to be yellow), and although her favorite shade is lime green, I think she’ll love this special birthday card.
I started this card with a very vanilla rectangle, and alternated stamping in Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz by starting with the darkest color first. Using stamps to make your own “patterned” paper adds so much interest to your cards and you can repeat the same pattern over and over with varying color combos!
I love Beautiful Botanicals for the elegant script sentiments and the aptly named beautiful flowers, but I also love the oversized sentiments from Sentiment Frames. It was the perfect choice to bring the sentiment front and center, especially when using the frame as an outline.
After I was done stamping my background, the sentiment and frame were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing power. I love the WOW factor embossing creates in person and you can see a bit of the shine in this close-up.
To complete my card, I wrapped gold DMC thread around the Mossy Meadow card base three times, and then used dimensionals to pop my stamped image panel up off the card base.
I hope this green “Spring” card has you feeling inspired to create this weekend! I’d love to see your cards featuring your own custom stamped patterned paper, so leave a link in the comments and I’ll be sure to visit.
