Hi, everyone!
I love my patterned paper, and I know many of you do, too. Have you ever thought to use background stamps ON the patterned paper to create a whole new look? You’ll be amazed at some of the combinations you’ll find.
This first one is one of my favorites. I actually used this technique on my card for the SSD #145 Sketch challenge this week.

This is one of the sheets from PTI’s Enchanted Evening patterned paper pack. Just some normal polka-dots.

When you add the Grunge 2 paint splatter background stamp using some Fresh snow ink, it makes it look like a snow storm! Great background for a Christmas or winter card!
What about a more woodsy, masculine look???

This patterned paper from Prima called Doodle Deux has some light squiggly marks going through the yellow…..It’s a more feminine pattern.

BUT……..Add the woodgrain background stamp from SSD’s Grunge stamp set using a Dark Chocolate ink and you’ve got the perfect background for a masculine birthday card!
How about some Christmas???

This is a beige and white polka-dot pattern from Authentique’s Celebrate collection.

Dress it up with SSD’s Timeless Textures background stamp and some Pure Poppy ink and you’ve got the perfect combination for a Christmas card.
I’d love to see your combinations of patterned paper and background stamps. If you come up with one you love, put your link in the comments so that I can come visit your blog!
