Hello friends,
Katie Gehring here. Over the past month, the design team has taken turns posting on the blog to share their final projects and to say goodbye. Today it’s my turn.
Over the years, Heather designed lots fabulous background stamps that can be used universally to give your projects that extra bit of pattern and pizzazz With February, right around the corner, I used some of my favorite background sets to make a Valentine. First I stamped the Woodgrain pattern from Grunge onto a rustic cream cardstock. Next I die-cut some hearts and stamped the scroll pattern from Damask Darling onto the large heart.
Next I stamped the sentiment from Pumpkin Seed Sentiments in black ink. I trimmed the stamped panel and mounted it to some patterned paper (Crate Paper) to create a polaroid-type look.

I attached the completed panel with a bit of washi tape to a card base covered with cardstock and patterned paper (Imaginese) that I die-cut and embossed to create even more patterns and texture.
I hope you have enjoyed the inspiration that Heather and the team have shared both over the years and the past couple months. I have been extremely blessed to have the privilege of working with such an amazing group of ladies. Although the blog may be quiet, Heather is planning to leave the store open to continue to sell her inventory and best-selling sets. If you have any questions, just pop Heather an email at madebyme33 (at) hotmail (dot) com, and she will help you out! Also, don’t forget that many of our cards and sketches are on Pinterest. You can check out our boards here.
Finally, thank YOU for all your support and love for Skipping Stones Design! Your passion and love for these stamps has been such a joy! So it’s goodbye for now, but I am sure we will be seeing each other around!
Creatively yours,
Katie
Hello everyone! Rochelle here! I’ve always enjoyed the lovey inspirational stamps that SSD has to offer! Today I wanted to share a “Thinking of You” card that I created for a friend. I used “Breath Taking Butterflies”. That swallow tailed butterfly is the perfect image for a nice thinking of you card.
The beauty of these stamps is their versatility. You can make so many fantastic creations! I hope you and enjoy and cherish your SSD stamps as much as I do!

Happy Monday friends! Katie Gehring here with a little surprise… you see I have hijacked the Skipping Stones blog today because some friends of Skipping Stones Design and I want to say thank you to Heather Engebretson.
Heather is the creative mastermind behind Skipping Stones Design. Over the past several years Heather has been such a passionate supporter the stamping and paper crafting community from offering up weekly inspiration through sketch challenges to her charitable work through the legendary Blogs for Boobies. She has given generously to her design team and guest designers as well as artists that make Skipping Stones Designs come alive on paper. At the beginning of December, Heather announced that Skipping Stones Design would be taking a hiatus. Heather’s creativity and sense of humor will be missed, and today, we want to say thank you.
Joining me to say thank you to Heather today is a chorus of 15 other talented ladies. Please take some time to visit each blog and enjoy the fantastic Skipping Stones inspiration. Some projects will be lovely, some will be sweet, and some may even make you LOL in true Skipping Stones style.
And because you can’t have a blog hop without prizes, I have three sets to give away to lucky folks who participate and comment on the hop. The sets are Heartsong, Grapeful, and Sassy Snow. The cut off for comments will be Sunday, February 3 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. Winners will be randomly selected from the designer’s blogs and will be announced on Monday, February 4 on the Skipping Stones blog and my blog as well. Please make sure that your contact information (email address) is connected to you blog profile or leave it in the comments section so I have a way to get a hold of you if you are one of the lucky winners. I have also heard there may also be another set for grabs on a designer’s blog.
Without further ado, below is our order for today’s hop.
We hope that you enjoy the Skipping Stones inspiration that we have put together today. Heather, this one is for you! Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and we wish you all the best with your future endeavors!
Creatively yours,
Katie
Hello, friends! This is Jennifer Ingle here with you today and I have a sympathy card using one of my favorite Skipping Stones Design sets, Healing Wings. I actually used this set so much I had to replace it! I love it THAT MUCH!
I stamped and fussy cut the butterfly and then added a bit of washi tape and velvet May Arts ribbon to embellish a bit. Just a simple, pretty card for those times when someone needs a hug in the mail.
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to take advantage of the PMS sale!
To create the butterfly, I stamped it on vellum and colored the back. The body was created with a bit of knotted twine.
A big thank you to Heather for the opportunity to play with her fabulous stamps each month! And thank you to the rest of the design team!
